The idea Golf Capital Magazine was birthed behind a Saint Petersburg, Florida butcher’s counter at a grocery store in the middle of 2008 when owner and publisher Dana Nichols received word that the grocery store will be closing its doors after a major buyout took place and all of the employees were required to find work elsewhere.
Nichols who by the youthful age of 21 gained 5 years publishing experience while working at the top ranks of a regional skateboard publication out of Tampa, Florida and combined his love for golf with the passion and superior knowledge of publishing.
With the closing of the grocery store looming and an economy in a hiring freeze Nichols decided to take the risk and start Florida’s newest bimonthly quality complimentary golf publication for prestigious golfers everywhere.
After the close of the grocery store Nichols invested his severance pay and a portion of his savings into a sample issue and a sales trip to the Fall 2009 PGA Merchandise Show at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino to work on making new business connections to lay the ground work for a strong long-term life span for Golf Capital Magazine.
Golf Capital Magazine is rapidly evolving and will continue to put 100% into everything that it is involved in through the bunkers and the rough to continue its success and to provide thought-provoking content for all of its readers.
