Spike TV will be driving a golf-themed pilot featuring a sex-addicted caddy named "Tiger."

The cable television channel for men, Spike TV will be driving a golf-themed pilot featuring a sex-addicted caddy named “Tiger.”

The new series titled “Back Nine” written by Jason Filardi (”17 Again”) and Mark Perez (”Accepted”) stars “The Dukes of Hazzard” cast member John Schneider as Ronnie Barnes with negotiations in action for Miguel Nunez to play the part of Tiger.

Barnes is a hard-drinking, larger-than-life, washed-up former U.S. Open champion that travels the country competing in tournaments with his caddy Tiger, in order to qualify again for the PGA Tour.

The similarities to Tiger Woods and the caddy named Tiger are simply a coincidence. Spike TV has been working on the “Back Nine” script on for almost a year before Woods’ November car crash.

Seton Hall University will be adding woman’s golf to its athletic program roster as soon as next season.

Since picking up the new addition Seton Hall had to eliminate men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams. Previously the university put up more than $1 million per year to support four track programs and will now reallocate a portion of that funding to remaining athletic programs.

The addition of women’s golf will keep the South Orange, N.J. university in line with NCAA and Title IX requirements and will remain a member of the Big East Conference.

Athletics director Joseph Quinlan said in a statement Thursday,“This was a difficult choice to make, given the history of our track and field programs, but it was a necessary one made in the best interests of Seton Hall Athletics on the whole,” and “It is not viable for us to continue to support the number of sports we do at the current level. With this decision, we will reallocate resources to strengthen the university’s ongoing sports programs.”

Donald Trump gets sued by Greek shipping heir Harry Theodoracopulos

Donald Trump will be facing a legal battle against Greek shipping heir Harry Theodoracopulos over allegations of bad behavior.

Harry Theodoracopulos has had his membership suspended from Trump’s, Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida since April of last year and is just now decided to take action against Trump by filing a lawsuit.

Theodoracopulos who paid 125,000 pounds for his membership allegedly had upset staff and fellow members.

Theodoracopulos was notified by Trump in a letter that stated, “You have been abusing numerous caddies, other members and representatives of the club in general,” and “intolerable behavior toward guests and members on the driving range.

The lawsuit comes after Theodoracopulos believes that he did not have an opportunity to defend himself to the club’s board, so will now be taking legal action.

The days of teeing off at the Indian Creek Golf Club may soon come to an end due to unwanted land that will be auctioned off.

The days of teeing off at the Indian Creek Golf Club may soon come to an end due to unwanted land that will be auctioned off.

David Bollinger and wife Barbara, currently own 78 acres not far from Cedar Crest Boulevard in Upper Milford Township and have made the decision to sell the property because they have no interest in keeping the land in the Lehigh Valley.

The decision to get rid of the property was solidified when long time golf course operator Arthur Schmidt who owns a portion of the 110+/- acre course, decided not to renew the lease on Bollinger’s land.

”The lease is dead,” Bollinger said, ”and I don’t want to own it.”

On March 23rd the 78 acres of the Bollinger’s land will go up for auction AS IS at the Emmaus Fire Company. The beginner course with wide fairways and relatively short length won’t reopen unless a new buyer decides to continue using the land as a golf course.

Mr. Bollinger’s wife purchased the 78 acres in 1984 and later leased it to Schmidt to be used as a 9-hole golf course. When the couple started to spend more time in Florida Schmidt approached the Bollingers about expanding the course into a full 18-hole facility.

”My wife and I had no big plans for it,” he said. ”We reluctantly went ahead and agreed to it.”

The most recent lease was set to expire in May with no plans from Schmidt to renew the contract. Schmidt said he is open to having a golf course continue at the property but the future of the course could hinge on the March 23 sale.

After sending out several dozen information packets to potential bidders Woody Zettlemoyer, co-owner of Zettlemoyer Auction Company LLC of Fogelsville said, ‘There’s a good number of people interested,”.

The golf course could remain standing but only if the new owner agrees to lease the land to Schmidt so he can continue to operate the course, or purchase Schmidt’s land and continues to operate the facility privately.

The property is zoned for high density residential and the future development for apartments, townhouses and single-family homes are a possibility.

Bill Powell known for breaking down racial and gender barriers in golf passes away at 93.

Bill Powell, the first African American to build, own and operate a golf course, passed away at the age of 93.

Powell passed away Thursday at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH following complications from a stroke.

The grandson of Alabama slaves, Powell created Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, Ohio after returning home from World War II.

Powell was the 2009 recipient of the PGA of America’s Distinguished Service Award for his hard work for building diversity in golf. Powell’s daughter, Renee Powell was the second African-American to compete on the LPGA Tour.

“I hope that I have created more awareness about what Clearview is all about,” said Powell after his Northern Ohio PGA Hall of Fame induction. “We have had many people come to visit us, including some from Canada. They now know who we are. I watched on TV golf being played in Shanghai, China, and I do believe that the game of golf is the best vehicle to rid hate in the world.”

Powell opened Clearview’s first nine holes in 1948 and added another nine in 1978. By developing women’s and youth golf leagues on his course Powell broke down racial and gender barriers.

By some, Clearview is known as “America’s Course” and is on the National Register of Historic Places. “America’s Course,” is a place where “the only color that matters is the color of the greens,” Powell told the PGA of America.

Powell was the first black person to compete in a junior event at Orchard Hill Country Club (now The Fairways Golf Club) in North Canton and also participated in the first inter-racial collegiate golf match in U.S. history, when his Wilberforce University men’s golf team defeated Ohio Northern University at Lost Creek Country Club in Lima, OH.

Powell and his late wife, Marcella, are the namesakes for the Tiger Woods Foundation’s William and Marcella Powell Scholarship and the First Tee also recognizes Powell’s contributions to golf and has distributed more than 1,100 William J. Powell Scholarships so that kids may attend The First Tee Life Skills and Leadership Academies.
