Beginning April 26th Donald Trump will host “Donald J. Trump’s Fabulous World of Golf,” a half-hour television series on Golf Channel.
The new television show will put pro golfers, athletes and celebrities in head-to-head competitions for their favorite charities on various Trump-owned golf courses.
Trump told the New York Post “I’m a golfer and I own some of the best courses in the world, and Golf Channel has a great demo,” and “I’m the presenter [on the show]; most of the matches will be shot on weekends so I can do this.
“In addition to the matches being played on my courses, I’ll walk around with the golfers and referee the matches.”
Trump said that one episode has already been filmed in Palm Beach where Lawrence Taylor against Jerry Rice competed against each other and there is a possibility of Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson getting on the field to face each other.
“Maybe we’ll have Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady, two of the greatest quarterbacks, squaring off,” Trump said. “Each golfer will be playing for their favorite charity and there will be some fairly substantial amounts of money [raised], depending on who we’re talking about.”
The show, scheduled to air at 9 p.m., and will join Golf Channel’s original-series department along with “The Haney Project”, an upcoming reality show centered around John Daly.
