A Flagler Beach woman is accused of intentionally running over 56 year old Verna Boylan while she was watching a game of horseshoes around 8pm Tuesday evening.
Boylan was dragged 15 yards before the golf cart came to a complete stop where the accused cursed at her as she laid injured on the ground behind the Roadhouse Bar in Flagler Beach. “My head is going under that tire and that’s the end of me.” Boylan said. “I thought that was it.”
Linda Lee Pearce, 41, was charged with aggravated battery after police found her “visibly intoxicated” at her home where she claimed Boylan walked in front of the golf cart.
Eye witnesses reported Pearce saying, “Oh, there’s the bitch . . . I’m going to run her over,” and then drove the cart directly into Boylan.
Pearce admitted to having anger problems and told reporters over the phone “I’m not telling you shit,” after hanging up the phone.
Pearce was released on $5,000 bail and received probation.
